Review: Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover

Hello Lovelies! I'm sure most of us are tired to death of hearing about Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water and how amazing it is (If you're wondering I loved it too) so instead of telling you what I thought of that, I'm reviewing their Express 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover instead (£3.50).

I should start this review by saying I really haven't tried any eye makeup removers at all. Honestly I'm usually too lazy to use more than one product to take off my makeup, as at the end of the day I usually just want to crawl into bed as quickly as possible. However I've found that this never ends well - I've had more than my fair share of dry eyelids, stinging eyelids and just itchiness, proof that I should take better care of my eyes and invest in something that won't irritate them.

The Express 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover appealed to me for this reason - it claims that it removes makeup effectively whilst caring for and protecting your eyes. In particular, Garnier say that this will reduce the amount of eyelashes that fall out as it works to strengthen and protect them. That's not really a problem I was aware of, but hey as a girl with short lashes, I want to keep as many of them attached to my eyelids as possible!

In terms of removing makeup I would say this product is reasonably efficient. It says that your makeup will come off in one sweep (no rubbing to irritate your eyes) and with less stubborn makeup this is true. However with darker eyeshadows and stubborn mascara, you need two sweeps or more to get it all off. It might not do the job in an instant, but it definitely works!

However, Where this product really wins me over is that it doesn't react to my eyes at all and after use it really feels like nothing has been on your eyes - no greasy residue! This ultimately is the most important thing to me, as the last thing you want from a product like this is a reaction or discomfort.

All in all, I'm impressed. I feel like this product is really great value at only £3.50, and does what it claims. It may not be the best at removing makeup, but it does the job pretty well plus it's perfect for sensitive skin (as it didn't irritate my eyes at all!).

Thanks for reading lovelies! What's your favourite eye makeup remover?

  1. This sounds so amazing! I would definitely get this product for its broke college kid budget-friendliness (hahaha) and it's efficiency for the price if I actually do eye make up at all, haha! Lovely review!

  5. I've been quite impressed with Garnier products lately! I'm pretty shocked because I was never really into their shampoos. Last night I just picked up their daily and nightly moisturizers! I hope they're just as good!

    1. Yeah I've never liked their hair products - got a dry shampoo from them and it was so greasy! They are definitely a brand that have their ups and downs!

  6. I'm in need of a new makeup remover, I have not found one that I love yet, so I might just try this one out! I have super sensitive eyes so the fact that this feels like 'nothing' sounds amazing!

  9. This sounds perfect! I've tried the other Garner remover and it was good but it did leave a little greasy residue so it's great that this one doesn't! Can't wait to try this, thanks for the wonderful post!

  10. For years I always used the Garnier Soothing Eyemakeup remover back when it was in a blue bottle but I noticed they replaced it with this. I much prefer the old formula as I think it did a better job at taking off your Eyemakeup off! Still a good budget buy though x

    1. Oh I didn't know they had one before, shame it doesn't do the job as well! It's still pretty good though and a nice budget buy x I wonder if this is better for sensitive skin, or just a worse formula?
