The Vivid Pop Up Matcha Bar Event

Hey lovelies, today I had the exciting opportunity to visit Vivid's Pop Up Matcha bar event.  Vivid drinks in case you've never heard of them, are a drinks range started by James Shillcock, which uses the unique ingredient of matcha. Vivid decided to create a pop up Matcha bar for the day to showcase just how versatile it is as an ingredient. Among the various options - all containing matcha, I tried a matcha latte (above), which I really loved as it tasted so pure and healthy. I also tried Matcha shortbread with sesame crust (definitely my favourite), Matcha glazed doughnuts and Matcha Macaroons - which were all incredibly delicious!

The question you are probably asking yourself is, what is matcha? Well at the event, we got to meet the founder of Vivid drinks James Shillcock, who explained to us exactly what matcha is and the correct way to brew it. To put it in simple terms, matcha is essentially a pure form of green tea. The reason it has such a vibrant green colour is because the tea leaves are not grown in direct sun light, meaning that the plant has to produce extra amounts of chlorophyl (which is a green colour) to survive. Apart from its stunning green colour, matcha also contains high levels of antioxidants and helps with concentration and focus, so is perfect for anyone who loves health drinks.

Vivid drinks are available in three flavours, Pear and Rhubarb, Grape and Elderflower and Lime, Ginger and Honey and cost £1.85. My personal favourite has to be Grape and Elderflower, and what I really love about these drinks is how great and healthy you feel after drinking them. I have actually been drinking Vivid drinks for a while now, even before the event, and have always loved how refreshed and revitalised they made me feel after drinking them.

Thank you for reading lovelies! Would you be interested in trying Vivid's drink's range? Let me know in the comment section below.

  4. I do enjoy anything with matcha in it, it's slightly bitter-ish so not everyone is a huge fan of it. Love the concept of this place, how I wish we have something similar here.
