Hey Lovelies! Today I'm going to be telling you my thoughts on February's Birchbox*. I know what you're thinking, I only reviewed one of these a couple of days ago - but honestly I was too excited to share my thoughts on this one with you, that I gave in and decided to do the post today. The theme of this month is 'Birchbox Loves' - which ties in with Valentine's Day approaching. The box is also (as you might notice), much slimmer than usual and this is because Birchbox are launching their Slimbox! The Slimbox will cost the same and contain the same products as the larger box, but instead it will fit through your letter box meaning that you won't have to be around to collect it. From tomorrow, Birchbox subscribers will be able to opt in to the slimbox, so keep that in mind if you're subscribed! Personally I prefer the bigger box, but this is definitely much more convenient as I won't have to worry about being around to collect it.
With the box, as always came information on the products and costs, as well as this cute little 'Birchbox Loves' booklet which talks about products that Birchbox really love. There's also a little note saying that you won't want to miss out on their March box, as there will be a very special surprise for those who like makeup, so you won't want to miss out!
THE CHIA CO (OATS + CHIA) MIXED BERRY FLAVOUR - (£4.95 FOR PACK OF 5)
A creamy blend of wholegrain oats, chia, fruit and virgin coconut oil
It's super simple - just add water, stir and enjoy!
I had this for breakfast yesterday and really loved it, although if you're not a porridge person you probably wouldn't! I'm not sure that I would buy these, as I tend to skip breakfast nowadays but I might consider it as I loved this little sample + it's healthy too! Personally I really like that Birchbox has a little lifestyle extra in each box, as it adds to the fun of trying out new things.
The Balm Cosmetics Cindy-Lou Manizer (£15.00)
A just-right shade of lustrous pink that adds glow where you need it
Dust it across cheekbones, onto eyelids, or anywhere you fancy!
I was really happy when I saw this in my box, as the Balm Cosmetics is a really fun brand and I've wanted to try something of theirs for so long! This powder is a really pretty gold/pink colour and has a nice natural look as it blends into the colour of my skin tone (I'm super pale). Even though this is quite a small sample, I will definitely be using it in the future for a natural eye look.
T LONDON DARJEELING HAND & BODY LOTION (FROM £6.50)
This soothing lotion is packed with nourishing jojoba and aloe oils
Slather onto hands and body when you're in need of some moisture
I love love love the scent of this. I'm a massive tea drinker so it really excited me when I saw that this has a Darjeeling scent. However, I do have slightly mixed feelings about this product. It does smell amazing but it also feels quite greasy on your skin even when you've only used a little. So even though I love the scent, I'm not quite sure I'd use it on a day to day basis simply because it feels a bit too greasy for my tastes.
LIZ EARLE BEAUTY CO. BOTANICAL SHINE SHAMPOO (£10.00)
A shine boosting blend of Vitamin E, fruit extracts and shea butter
Wet hair thoroughly then lather up, massaging in from roots to tips
I haven't had the chance to try this one out (partly because I'm so loyal to Aussie hair products), but I'm not the biggest fan of the smell. I am quite weary of experimenting with hair products personally as my hair can get really frizzy if I switch them around too much. So this product was a bit of a miss to me, as I'm not too interested in haircare.
CAUDALIE VINOPERFECT RADIANCE SERUM (£45.00)
Skin will be glowing thanks to this radiance boosting, oil-free formula
After cleansing, before moisturising, smooth a think layer onto your face
This was actually in my last box, but it was nice to be able to try it again considering that it's a very high end product and not something I would buy that easily. Although I don't really use serums, this did make my skin look a lot more radiant, and felt very light on my skin. Would I buy it for myself? At £45.00, no.
CYNTHIA ROWLEY BEAUTY EYELINER IN BLACK £11.00
A creamy formula that delivers a bold, lasts-all-day, slick of colour
Trace along the lashline and leave as it, or blend for a smokey look
How cute is this eyeliner? It's so nice! I love the packaging of this one. I don't really use eyeliner that often because I am awful at applying this, so don't have much to compare this to. I do like it, although it is quite thick, so is probably best to use if you are creating a smokey eye look as it would be perfect for that.
All in all, I really liked this month's Birchbox, even more than the last one! I just think that the Valentine's Day theme is adorable, and there were a lot of products I really loved this week and will use. There were a couple miss products, but I really feel like all in all, this box was far from being a disappointment.
Thank you for reading lovelies! What do you think of the new Slimbox? Let me know in the comment section below. If you feel like subscribing it costs £10.00 per month (not including postage), and you can subscribe here!

Perfect Imperfections
Yeah they're such a fun brand!
DeleteThese are only a tenner? What? You got so much stuff. D:
ReplyDeleteI reallly want to try chia seeds, I think you can mix them with smoothies and stuff and use milk instead of water.
The make up palette of one looks so girly, cute and versatile.
Also I really like the sound of the eyeliner because I don't have the most sturdy hand.
I would like to subscribe but I have a feeling I would end up with loads of stuff I do not use.
