Hello Lovelies! Today I'm bringing you some more of my Tv and film recommendations. This probably isn't the best time of year to be suggesting things for you to watch, as a lot of us are doing exams - and would just love another reason to procrastinate but even so if you have no free time now the Summer holidays are coming up so you can indulge then!
CLUELESS (97 MINS)
This is a film that I'm sure needs no introduction - unless you're totally Clueless that is (yes I made that joke...). Clueless tells the story of Cher, the most popular girl at school who fancies herself a bit of a match-maker. Along with her best friend Dionne, she takes the new girl Tai under her wing and tries to match-make her with horrible results. Cher soon realises that she's clueless not only about other people's love lives but her own. This is definitely worth a watch, or a re-watch as there were so many jokes that I didn't get when I was younger. Plus there are so many amazing - and sometimes cringe worthy fashion moments.
LIFE ON MARS (60 MINS PER EP)
Life On Mars (2006) tells the story of policeman Sam Tyler who's involved in a car accident that sends him all the way back to 1973. Sam finds himself in a police system completely alien to him - with violence and corruption at the very heart. He also finds himself questioning if he's in reality or just in a coma, with things becoming even more confusing when he meets younger versions of people he already knows and famous criminals who haven't yet been caught. If you love a good series - that will keep you constantly guessing then you should definitely watch Life On Mars.
THE GIRL WHO LEAPT THROUGH TIME (98 MINS)
It's pretty easy to guess what The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is about, and yes it's about a girl who can leap through time. One day teenager Makato, discovers a strange object and soon realises that she can travel through time. Immediately she starts using this power to her own advantage, using it to avoid being late or get perfect grades. However she soon realises that her time travel has very negative consequences to those around her.
And Then There Were None is based off one of Agatha Christie's classics (Author of Miss Marple and Poirot mysteries) and tells the story of 10 strangers invited by a mysterious host to a remote island. When they arrive, they hear a recording left by their mysterious host accusing all the guests of crimes that they were never punished for. As you can imagine, the guests become pretty keen to leave the island - but there's one catch, there's no boats on the island and there won't be another one for a few days. Even worse, each of them start to get killed off according to a child's nursery rhyme and no one knows who the killer is. I'd definitely recommend this if you like a good thriller, it's a classic.
THE STRANGER ON THE BRIDGE (47 MINS)
If you live in the UK, you might have caught The Stranger On The Bridge on tv this week on Channel 4. It tells the story of Jonny Benjamin and his global search to find the stranger who talked him out of jumping off Waterloo Bridge in 2008. Not only is it remarkable hearing the story of how one act of kindness changed a man's life, but in his search Jonny also inspires many others to share their own stories and to talk about depression and suicide. This documentary is a testament to how much impact one act of kindness can really have, and as any great documentary does it makes you see the world in a slightly different light. It's well worth a watch, just be prepared to cry.
Thank you for reading lovelies! If you have any recommendations for me - I would love to hear them - so if you do leave them down below in the comment section! Have a wonderful Wednesday - and if you're doing exams too, hang in there.
