Hello Lovelies! Believe it or not I came up with the idea for this series all the way back in January, and now in June, I have finally got round to posting it and making it happen. The 'Ask The Bloggers' series is something that I hope will bring some of us from the blogging community together and be helpful to those of you who blog, or are thinking of starting a blog. Every post I'll be asking a few bloggers a question, and in this installment the question is:
WHAT IS YOUR BEST BLOGGING ADVICE?
Jemma's Answer:
My best blogging advice? Probably to be yourself! There's no greater thing you can do for your blog than let it be 100% you and your voice. You'll get so much pleasure out of it and it'll make your posts so much more interesting to read! :) I guess that'd be my main advice. But other tips that really can't hurt would be - get chatting on Twitter! It's amazing for getting involved in the community. Take photos with as much natural light as possible! And don't message people asking them to follow you. A bit of promotion on tweets is ace, but personally annoying people is just tacky! <3 xx
Rachel's Answer:
I think my best blogging advice would include a few things! Number one would be to be consistent with posts. Whether it's every other day or every week I think it's important because then you get into a set routine and you're less likely to end up forgetting or not doing it because you're busy with other stuff. Following from that, scheduling posts is always a good idea. For example if you only have one free day a week. Use that day to write up more than one blog post and then schedule them to go live on your blog throughout the week. That way readers will get to read new posts more regularly than just lots of posts at once!
Next I think pictures are important! A pretty picture really can make a post ten times better! When taking photos take LOADS and then you can pick out your favourite ones. Then I edit my pictures so much! I always make them brighter just to make them 'prettier' and more modern looking.
And last but not least, my final and probably most important tip is to have fun with it! There is honestly no point in doing it if you're not really interested in what you're posting about or if you're getting stressed about keeping up with your post routine! If you've got a fashion blog but one day you fancy posting about something completely different e.g a recipe you have made, something difficult you've recently been through etc, then go for it! It's you're blog so it should be whatever you want it to be. Don't feel as though you have to stay within guidelines or a particular theme!
Angela's Answer:
My best advice is to write for yourself first. Never forget why you started, and what you love to write about. It's a great feeling knowing that other people want to read what you have to write, and sometimes you can feel pressure, but remember that it is YOUR blog and you should always write about things you're passionate about. Some days you'll be full of ideas, inspiration and creativity - and some days you'll have none. Never force yourself to blog and compromise your content, blog when you want to blog & be proud of what you do. :)
Shireen's Answer:
There are so many blogging tips & tricks that are available all over the inter web these days however, almost none mentioned the disappointments that comes with blogging. These days the world wide web is flooded by blogs, there are so many bloggers that it feels one in every ten people you talk to is a blogger. So be prepared if your blog is ignored and don't have an audience for months and maybe even years.
The one thing that most new bloggers fail to realize is that people don't just stumble onto your blog, you need to get it out there and social media is your best friend for this. Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram are great for promoting your blog, be active on it, interact with your audience and before you know it, you'll have friends and followers.
And finally, blog out of passion and not for freebies. I know I sound like a broken record but I can't stress enough on this matter. It took me almost a year of blogging before the opportunity to work with brands came knocking on my door and I still invest tons of money. Bear in mind that blogging can be expensive, especially if you're a beauty blogger. Embrace your passion, expect nothing in return and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the little things that you will discover throughout your blogging journey.
Alina's Answer:
Live life... and then blog about it. A lot of first time bloggers find it hard to have a social life and blog because it takes so much of their time but I think that your life should be a part of your blogging. Don't forget to do your day to day things and don't stress yourself out with blogging - simply write when you can, post when you can. That way, your content will always be natural and a pleasure to read and you'll always be happy :)

My Answer:
When it comes to blogging, it's so easy to become overwhelmed by it all. One minute you're in love with your content and everything is sunshine and rainbows, but then you just can't stop comparing your blog to everyone else's. It's easy to think about what your blog doesn't have, and forget what makes your blog unique and great. There are a lot of tips out there (I've written loads myself) that can help, but at the end of the day the most important thing is that you're creating content you like writing and that it makes you happy. Never feel like you have to blog the way people say you need to because you'll be happiest blogging about whatever you want! Don't worry about falling into a category. I started off as a beauty and fashion blogger, but I realised that there are so many things I want to share beyond that - so don't restrict yourself.
If you find yourself getting stressed out because of blogging, think about how you felt in the beginning - you started it all for a reason. It's so easy to get caught up with numbers, but they aren't the most important thing at all. At the end of the day, we are all our own harshest critics, so don't get too down when you feel your blog isn't good enough! Chances are you have a lot of secret fanboys/fangirls who love your blog :)

I definitely think that being yourself and posting what you want is the most important thing in blogging, We aren't all going to be the best photographers or writers out there, but as long as we ourselves are passionate about what we share on our sites, that is all that matters.

DeleteSuch an important post & I love that you engaged with other bloggers. Shireen has some very valid points; blogging isn't a 100% success rate & it's important to know what your goals are. :]
