Review: Bourjois Magic 2-in-1 Nail Polish Remover

Hello Lovelies! After using the cheapest nail polish remover for as long as I can remember, I thought it was about time I tried something a little pricier to see if it is really worth the money. So I picked up Bourjois's Magic 2-in-1 Nail Polish Remover (£5.99) to see if it spending a few extra pounds would be good value in the end. If you're wondering this nail polish remover is a upgraded version of their other Magic Nail remover (£4.99), the difference being that you can use this one for toenails as well as nails.

What's really interesting about this nail varnish remover is the way you use it. For nails you dip your finger into the tub which has a sponge inside that you can push your finger in to, and this basically soaks off the nail polish after a few seconds. For toenails you use the sponge at the top which you can use to soak them. I tried using the nail sponge wearing three layers of glitter nail polish (which is so hard to get off) and after a few attempts I managed to get it off after dipping each finger three times and leaving it for a few seconds. The nail polish remover definitely doesn't get rid of nail polish in a second, like it claims to do but it does within a few seconds and is a much nicer alternative to having to scrub off nail varnish like other products.

After use your nails are left nice and smooth too, and smelling to me like berries which is a nice touch. I've found with a lot of cheap nail varnish removers that my nails have been left quite coarse and rough, but this really leaves your nails looking nice and healthy.

So would I buy this again? Yes, I think I would. It's more than I'd usually pay, but I love the way it leaves my nails and the minimum effort it takes to remove all your nail polish.

Thanks for reading lovelies! Hope you're having a lovely Wednesday.

  2. I have the original one and it definitely doesn't get the nail polish off in one second like it claims, but it's pretty fast! Would you say this one is better than the original? xxxxx

    1. I think it's essentially the same formula (never tried the original) but it has the extra sponge on the top (so I think that's the 2-in-1 element!) xx

  3. I've been seeing similar removers like this one and I've always wanted to try one, but that costs almost as much as a nice quality polish! Not sure I can let go of my cheapy Boots remover just yet

  4. I've never tried this sort of remover but it surely is an interesting concept! I'm not sure if the local drugstore carries this as they only carry extremely limited Bourjois products but I'll look out for it. Great review, Vikcy!

  5. I use the original one and love it. It's so much easier and cleaner than using cotton pads!
I'm definitely going to look for this one next time I run out!

  6. Smells like berries, eh? That's a plus. I hate the smell of most nail polish removers! :]

    1. Yeah me too. It smells like nail polish remover in the pot, but that smell fades away on your nails and smells like berries!
