Hello Lovelies! When it comes to bloggers, most of us appear to have our lives together. Stereotypically we have super pretty stationery (usually about 20 billion notebooks, because notebooks) and we are super organised. I have the pretty stationery part down, but organised? Not so much. I'm more of an organised chaos kind of girl, which basically means I'm unorganised but somehow still manage to keep a reputation of being organised against all the odds. When I was at school, I was a little bit of a Hermione and used to meet all my homework deadlines but then when it came to my files, they were so messy. I basically just used to file my papers randomly at the end of every lesson which was all fun and games until I actually needed to find something or the teacher looked at my file.
I had my first two days of uni this week, and I may have freaked out a little. It's a lot more work than last year by a long way, and even in first year I was working a lot, this is what happens when you choose to do two languages... Part of me just knows that it's going to be really hard to keep blogging and studying, unless I actually for once try and be organised, properly this time. So long story short, I thought I'd invest in something pretty to motivate myself. I ended up in Paperchase, which happens a lot because their flagship store (Tottenham Court Road) is only five minutes away from my university and honestly it's an amazing store, with three floors of stationery (need I say any more?). There was a whole collection of Multi List Books but the one that caught my eye was this beautiful Nordic Nights one (£8.00).
What I really love about this is all the details. There's even hand-stitching on the cover which is such a lovely little touch, and of course the ribbon which keeps the whole book together. When you open it up you have three notes. One for memos, one for notes and the to-do list which can all be teared out to use as well as a pen which is pretty handy! At the moment I've only started using the lists as I'm not really sure what I'll use the others for - any suggestions are welcome!
As far as To-do lists go, they are actually a great way to keep on top of everything especially things like remembering to take blog photos etc... But I think the best thing about them is that they make you feel good and keep you motivated. When you tick something off the list you actually feel so much better, which will be great for me in a few weeks time when I'm exhausted and want to give up. I don't think they're for everyone, because we all keep organised in our own ways but I'd definitely recommend giving To-do lists a go, because it's a simple thing that can make a huge difference. But if you really struggle with organisation, keep trying new things as being organised can really lift a whole weight off your shoulders and sometimes it's just a case of finding what works for you.
Thank you for reading lovelies! Let me know how you stay organised (or if you completely struggle!). Side note, how are we almost in October, how did that happen?

Haha I hope so too, really need to keep organised!
DeleteI've started using my calendar to schedule everything for the blog, I'm getting more collaborations and starting to lose track of things. I've never used a notebook though, I think I'm just too lazy to write. LOL!
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
Haha yeah I'm usually a bit lazy too - I actually started using my calendar too to organise things!
DeleteSuch a cute notebook! You can never have too many ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha never!
DeleteHow gorgeous is this?? I will forever have a notebook obsession and paperchase is such a little treasure trove!
ReplyDeleteMusings & More
Oh yeah, every time I go to Paperchase I end up in there for ages because there are so many pretty things!
DeleteThe notebook is lovely. I really should get one too!
ReplyDeleteI am finding 2nd year a lot more tough too and could do with being that extra bit organised.
I've too many group projects and study sessions to do as well as maintaining my blog, going to the gym and having a social life.
You could use the notes section or memo session to write down those things when you come up with ideas out of the blue!
Ellen,

Great idea for the notes/memo section, will definitely do that - thanks Ellen! And yes me too, everything is a little bit crazier this year!
DeleteCuuuute planner! I want one just for the hell of it. I do all my to do lists on a desk planner, also from Paperchase! Need to be more organised with my notes though, I've been stuffing all my papers into the front of a notebook! NO good! x
