Hello Lovelies! As I said in another post, I recently met my Blogger Bestie Rachel for the first time when she came down to stay with me for the weekend in London. We met online almost a year ago now, after we bonded over Eurovision - which is both of ours guilty pleasure and then just never really stopped talking. Fast forward nearly a year later, and we talk every day (literally) and to be honest I couldn't imagine my life without her. One of my friends called her my mini me (because she's a lot shorter) and I think that sums our friendship up in a nutshell - we are so ridiculously similar!
But of course Rachel isn't the only friend I've made through blogging, there are actually so many of you and that isn't a reflection of me at all (because let's be real, I'm not exactly cool) but more just shows how blogging is such a great way to make friends. A great example of just how blogging can bring people together is my friend Shireen who lives all the way in Canada because I'm sure we would never have crossed paths otherwise - but I am so glad she did. Just not so happy about how far away she lives!
I've also now got a blogger pen pal, the lovely Liam from the life of a thinker which is super exciting, because I love letters - emails just aren't the same! I've also met quite a few bloggers too, and it's so lovely to meet up and talk about blogging things and actually have someone understand. Because I don't know about you, but my friends tease me about how many photos I take all of the time - they just don't get it at all!

To be honest, really I want to say thank you to everyone one of you who's welcomed me on my blogging journey - whether that's by commenting, chatting with me on Twitter or anything. I have never been the cool kid, in fact there were a lot of years where I didn't have any friends at all and never really felt like I'd fit in anywhere but I feel like I belong in the blogging community so thank you for that. I'm always blown away by how friendly people can be, and I would list you all but I'd be here for days - just know I love you guys.
And if you're reading this thinking 'But I haven't made any friends yet', don't you worry - just strike up a conversation with someone, or send me a message and you'll start to make friends before you know it. It is honestly much easier than you think.
Thank you for reading lovelies! Have an amazing week!

yes! I love this and I agree. After uni, everyone sort of lost contact with each other but blogging has brought friends into my life again, friends who I have something in common with and can chat about anything and everything blogging related :D

Thank you so much for thinking of me, Vicky, you're such a sweetheart...frankly, one of the sweetest person that I have ever met (online and real life) in my life. I honestly wish we don't live that far away but if you ever visit Vancouver, please send me a note, I'll meet you there! The same if I ever visit the UK, hugs!
ReplyDeleteps: How's the preparation for studying in Japan?

Awww this is so cute!! I absolutely love the blogging community. I've never really had many friends, so to start talking to people on Twitter from the blogging community has made me 10000x happier! I'd love to meet more people and talk to them!!

Ah, I love Eurovision as well! Seriously don't understand how people can't love watching it.
ReplyDeleteI think it's so great that you've made friends through blogging, I know I feel like I'm constantly trying to find bloggers that live in the same state as me!
