Hello Lovelies! I'll start this post off with that cheesy ol' saying, that will probably make you roll your eyes but hey it's true, blogging has changed my life. When I say that a part of me cringes, but mostly I'm like well that's pretty damn true because it has. Let's get ready to ramble...
You see the thing is growing up I spent most of my life wanting to disappear. I was one of those shy kids who felt like a bit of an anomaly, and would do her best to just hope she wasn't noticed. I had a pink gap hoodie round my waist, a hello kitty lunchbox, and I'd fold little bits of paper into animals so I'd feel less alone. At playtime I'd run around so no one would notice me, because I was so scared someone might realise I had no one to play with. I remember buying a little activity book on world book day, noticing there was a page you had to complete with a friend, and bursting into tears. One of the older kids asked me why I was crying, and I didn't have the heart to tell her it was because I had no friends. And although I did eventually meet friends (shout out to my childhood best friend Yas, the goth who gave possibly the girly-est girl ever a chance) I felt like this kid for a long time after.
And then I started blogging, which is a complete contradiction of that because I was putting myself out there in front of the whole world big time. It was my way of being like to world 'Hey look at me, I exist' and I have a voice. It scared me, but the idea of creating something excited me at the same time. The thing is I love blogging, I love taking photos of my baths, attempting to be funny and just sharing stuff with you guys. I love it all, and sometimes yes I hate it, but I never feel happier then when I'm behind a keyboard writing a post I love.
But my point is guys, that blogging can be such a wonderful experience that really makes you grow as a person. You make the best friends, you learn skills that you never expected to learn and your confidence just grows. You watch other blogs be as inspiring as hell, who create posts that make you cry, laugh and just genuinely question how they can take photos that well (like seriously, we're just ordinary people). And I won't lie sometimes you question why you do it all, because you spend hours making blog posts and you don't really get why but then you just do, you blog, you blog and then blog some more.
*P.S it's also my gorgeous little fluffball Molly's birthday, she's 10 but still acts like a puppy!
Congratulations! I love that you've been so empowered by blogging. I've just discovered this blog so I'll look forward to catching up with it. Good luck for the years to come! Monica xx
